Raise funds to bring companionship and joy this festive season
Join the club and make a real difference
For 12 years running, Marmalade Trust has brought joy, companionship, and warmth on Christmas Day to those who would otherwise be spending the day alone. Our mission is to invite anyone who would love some company to join us for a free festive lunch on the big day, or a doorstep visit with a friendly volunteer.
We're asking you or your organisation to fundraise £1500 to support the Christmas Cheer project. The 1500 Club is open to anyone looking to make a difference this Christmas.
Your donation of £1500 will go directly to helping us bring festive cheer to those who would otherwise be alone, including the cost of a Christmas meal in a local pub or restaurant, and a Christmas hamper filled with treats. For most, this will be the only gift they receive.
Step 1
Choose what to do
If you're raising money as an individual you could collect sponsorship for taking on a challenge (see our festive fundraising ideas here). If your organisation is fundraising, you could host a festive party or donate a percentage of sales for a festive item.
Step 2
Register your event
Head to our JustGiving page or make your own on Facebook or JustGiving - it’s easy for you to collect sponsors and donations. If you hold a sale or raise money another way, you can transfer it after the event to our JustGiving page by clicking here.
Step 3
Spread the word
Download graphics and use the hashtags #1500Club and #TeamMarmalade. Email us - we’d love to support you, say thank you and share your story. Shout from the rooftops, use social media or email to let everyone know about how they can support your fundraiser.

Together at Christmas
After months of careful planning, we can't tell you the joy it brings us to see our Marmalade members enjoying their Christmas Day. We also love it when our members call us afterwards and tell us how much fun they had: "I haven't laughed that much for years" one member expressed. Another said, "This was the first time in 16 years I was not alone on Christmas Day. I’ve got some lovely memories!". These words underline the significance of the connections made and the joy experienced.
1500 Club champions
Bristol-based recruitment company Alexander Mae joined the club in 2023: "We wanted to support a local charity and felt the Marmalade Trust offers incredible help for loneliness in our community. As a business, we are all about making connections and it’s so great to see a charity helping people who perhaps struggle either with lack of confidence or opportunities to make meaningful connections.
