Volunteer!

At Marmalade Trust we rely on our team of volunteers to enable the smooth running of the charity, and to make our Christmas Day lunches so special. Without our dedicated group of friendly and committed volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.

Would you like to help us make Christmas Day special for lonely and isolated people? We require over 100 volunteers over the festive period. If you live in Bristol, South Glos or the surrounding areas and have time to spare we would love to hear from you.

Our three main Christmas roles are summarised below. On occasions we also require support with planning or running events and are always in need of fundraisers. We like to invite all of our guests as friends so do not charge them for their Christmas Day meal.

To register your interest in volunteering/fundraising, or to apply for a specific Christmas role, please complete our online form here or download the application form.

Head Elf  As a Head Elf you will play a key part in helping to coordinate and run a successful Christmas Day event at one of our venues. Your main responsibility is to ensure our Christmas Day guests and our volunteer drivers are appropriately connected and turn up at the right time, the right place, and on the right day! Reindeer – As a Reindeer you will be responsible for collecting a guest/s from their home on Christmas Day and driving them to/from one of our venues. This role is suited to volunteers who can spare approximately one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon on Christmas Day. It is also possible to carry out just one part of the journey however we do prioritise volunteers who can do both. Click here to download the detailed Reindeer role outline.

Rudolf – As a Rudolf volunteer you will carry out the same driving duties as a Reindeer, however, you will stay for the duration of the meal to support the Head Elf with the smooth running of the event and help our guests feel settled, happy and most importantly, have fun!
