Work based volunteering

Are you a social media wiz, a design genius or even a highly organised administrator? At Marmalade Trust we’re keen to hear from skilled professionals who are looking to gain experience in an up and coming charity.

In return for a few hours each week supporting our head office functions, you’ll receive:

  • Experience working in a rapidly growing charity
  • The opportunity to utilise your skills for a meaningful cause
  • Ongoing support and training where necessary
  • A professional reference to go on your CV

If you have a skill to share then we’d love to hear from you.

Volunteer this Christmas!

At Marmalade Trust we rely on our team of volunteers to make our Christmas Day lunches extra special. Without our dedicated community of friendly and committed volunteers we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Would you like to help us make Christmas Day special for lonely and isolated people?

This year we will be inviting 150 Marmalade guests to join us for lunch on Christmas Day and will require over 100 volunteers to support the event. If you live in Bristol, South Glos or North Somerset and have time to spare we would love to hear from you. Our three main Christmas roles are summarised below.

We’re delighted that our Christmas volunteering roles are very popular so we recommend you apply as soon as possible.  To apply please complete our online form here.

Volunteer roles available at Marmalade Trust

Lead Volunteer:

As a Lead Volunteer you will play a key part in helping to coordinate and run a successful Christmas Day event at one of our venues. Your main responsibility is to ensure our Christmas Day guests and our volunteer drivers are appropriately connected and turn up at the right time, the right place, and on the right day! Driving Volunteer:

As a Driving Volunteer you will be responsible for collecting one or two of our guests from their home on Christmas Day and driving them to/from one of our venues. This role is suited to volunteers who can spare approximately one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon on Christmas Day. It is also possible to carry out just one part of the journey however we do prioritise volunteers who can do both. Click here to download the detailed Driving Volunteer role outline.

General Volunteer:

As a General Volunteer you will carry out the same duties as a Driving Volunteer, however, you will stay for the duration of the meal to support the Lead Volunteer with the smooth running of the event and help our guests feel settled, happy and most importantly, have fun!
